3 Quick Tips For Listing Your Home
By: Carolyn Smith
Getting ready to list your home can be a bit scary but with the help of a great agent and some prepping your home will fly off the market!
First thing is first, your home should be in tip-top shape. Take a few days (or weeks, if needed) to get your house looking amazing. De-clutter, un-personalize, and re-paint! Your home should feel fresh and clean for potential buyers. The less clutter and personal items that they see the more they can visualize themselves living in your home. A fresh coat of paint can go a long way, but make sure you stick to neutrals.
Hire an agent! A good seller’s agent will take the headache out of selling your home and make the process go much smoother, not to mention they have tons of valuable knowledge to help you through the entire listing process.
Get the proper Certificates of Occupancy or HOA docs for listing and selling your home. Depending on the city or neighborhood you live you may or may not need documents or inspections to sell your home. Make sure these documents/inspections have been done during the listing process as these items can hold up closing if they aren’t done on time.
Once these things are done, get ready for the showings to roll in! Make sure to keep your home tidy and showings ready at all times, you never know who is going to want to take a peek at your home.
