Easy Curb Appeal Fixes For Selling Your Home
By: Carolyn Smith
There are tons of factors that come into play when selling your home but did you know what a huge impact curb appeal has on how much money you get for your home? Good landscaping can add a whopping 28% to your home value, and even draw in potential buyers. Here are a few things to consider when making curb appeal fixes.
Don’t neglect outdoor fixtures. Doors, shutters, railings and even your mailbox should be given a fresh coat (or two) of paint. All outdoor lighting should work and be replaced, if needed. Make sure your walkway is sturdy and attractive, potential buyers could be turned off if they are tripping over a cracked path. To sellers these things might not seem important but outdoor fixtures welcome guests and are the framework of your yard.
Define lawn edges by mowing and edging. This will give your lawn a low maintenance, clean look which potential buyers love.
Potential buyers will gush over your lush lawn. Get rid of crabgrass and weeds by applying a herbicide to your lawn. Mowing every 4-5 days during the warmer months will also aid in keeping your lawn looking beautiful.
Add pops of color with beautiful flowers and planters, but make sure they are maintained. Dry, dying flowers can make your home look unkempt. Topiaries and potted plants add a welcoming touch and can be easily moved when it’s time to relocate.
When it comes to curb appeal, don’t over think it, less is more. Once your yard is showings ready, be sure to maintain it, to keep those potential buyers coming!
